Cookie policy
How Eigencode Ltd uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on quaverley.com.
This Cookie Policy explains how Eigencode Ltd ('we', 'us', or 'our') uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on quaverley.com. It should be read together with our Privacy Notice.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on a user's device when the user visits a website. Cookies help websites work correctly and can collect information about website usage.
Cookies may be:
- First-party cookies, set by the website you are visiting.
- Third-party cookies, set by external service providers.
Websites may also use similar technologies such as web beacons, pixel tags, tags, and scripts. This policy covers those too.
2. Why does this website use cookies?
This website uses cookies and similar technologies only where they are needed to keep it working. At the date of this policy, quaverley.com sets no cookies of its own, and no third party is permitted to set advertising or tracking cookies here. Two things take the place of cookies:
- Essential storage. A sign-in session and your display preferences are kept in browser or device storage: the Keychain on Apple devices, the Keystore on Android, and browser storage on the web. This storage is essential to the service, is not a cookie, and is not shared with anyone.
- Cookieless measurement. Where we measure how the site is used, we use self-hosted analytics that count page views and anonymous interactions, such as which call to action was followed. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint browsers, does not track you across other sites, and does not store IP addresses. The result is aggregate counts, never a profile of an individual.
We do not use cookies to deliver advertising or personalised content. Where cookies are used by separate services you reach from this site, they may collect identifiers such as IP address, device identifiers, browser type, and referral source; those services act under their own policies, described in section 6.
3. Cookie categories
Cookies are usually grouped into the categories below. We set none of them on this site today; the notes give what applies instead.
- Necessary cookies (strictly necessary cookies). Required for website functionality and security. We set none. The essential storage described in section 2 is not a cookie.
- Functional cookies. Remember user preferences. We set none; preferences are kept in browser or device storage.
- Analytics cookies. Measure user behaviour and website performance (for example, Google Analytics cookies). We set none; our measurement is cookieless and self-hosted.
- Marketing cookies. Support targeted advertising (for example, a Meta Pixel). We set none, and we do not allow advertising or tracking technologies on this site.
If a cookie is ever introduced, it will belong to one of these categories and will be listed in section 4 before it is set.
4. Cookie list
The list below is the outcome of a review of this site's scripts, storage and third-party services. It currently contains no cookies:
- Necessary: none identified.
- Functional: none identified.
- Analytics: none identified.
- Marketing: none identified.
If non-essential cookies are added, they will appear here with their provider, purpose, and duration, and we will ask for your consent before setting them.
5. Cookie duration (session cookies vs persistent cookies)
Cookie duration explains how long a cookie remains active.
- Session cookies expire when the user closes the browser.
- Persistent cookies remain active for a defined period.
Expiry is disclosed because it affects how long tracking continues. No cookies are set today; if one is added, its duration will be stated in the cookie list above.
6. Third-party cookies and tracking technologies
Third-party providers such as Google, Meta, Microsoft, payment processors, and embedded video platforms may place cookies on a website, and they process data under their own privacy policies. We do not embed advertising, social, or video widgets on quaverley.com, and we do not permit third parties to set cookies here. When you follow a link to a separate service, for example a payment page hosted by Stripe or signing in with Apple or Google, that service may set its own cookies on its own domain and process data under its own privacy policy.
7. How users can manage cookies
Your browser lets you view, block, and delete cookies. Blocking all cookies may affect how some sites work. Because we set no non-essential cookies on this site, there is no cookie banner and no consent to withdraw today. If we introduce non-essential cookies, you will be able to accept or reject each category, change your preferences at any time, and withdraw consent as easily as you gave it.
8. Updates to this cookie policy
Eigencode Ltd may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology, the cookies used, or legal requirements. The 'Last updated' date above reflects the most recent revision.
