Getting started

Create an account, add a first piece, and understand what happens next.

What is Quaverley?

A piano practice app. It turns a score into a structured plan of small steps and keeps a record of what you have practised, bar by bar. It runs in a browser and on iPhone, iPad and Android.

How do I create an account?

Open the app and sign in with your email. A new email address creates an account and starts the free trial of 7 days, with no card required. You can also sign in with a Google or Apple account, or with a one-time code sent by email.

How do I add my first piece?

Choose a piece from the library, or upload a score of your own as a PDF or clear photographs. The app reads the pages and proposes how to split the piece into practice steps. You can change any of it.

What happens after I add a score?

The pages are measured for staves, barlines and sections. This usually takes a minute or two for a full piece. When it finishes, the piece appears in My music with a study plan ready to start.

How long does a practice session take?

As long as you have. A single step takes a few minutes, and fifteen minutes is a real session. The plan works with whatever time it is given.

Which devices can I use?

A browser, an iPhone or iPad, or an Android device. Your account carries the record between them.

Do I need a teacher to use it?

No. Quaverley supplies the structure that a teacher would otherwise set for the week. If you do have a teacher, the record makes the lesson time more useful. See For teachers.
